A large and growing community college district in the Houston area was facing challenges maintaining its technical staffing for projects. Historically, full-time employees were hired to perform all software development tasks but it was difficult to find qualified and committed employees that were available at budgeted salary levels.
The district contracted with ProLogic Corporation to provide interim consulting assistance while completing a project on which additional resources were needed. The project was so successful that the district explored other opportunities to leverage ProLogic's resources rather than hire additional full-time staff. A long-term arrangement was reached wherein ProLogic would provide a project manager and multiple software developers experienced in the technologies required by the district at a cost that was lower than the cost of hiring full-time employees.
