The project account executive maintains overall accountability for delivery of the project. The AE is responsible for management of the customer relationship during all four phases of the project (design, build, implement, manage),
and for ensuring that the business requirements are properly defined and understood. The AE serves as the primary
point of customer contact, and delivers status reports at intervals requested by the customer (usually weekly) with
respect to budget and progress.
Each project has assigned a Technical Director who is a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (a strict certification
with membership of less than 3,000 professionals worldwide). The Technical Director oversees the technical design
for each project and its implementation to ensure that the proper technical solution for the current and anticipated
future business requirements is delivered. The Technical Director reviews all program code to ensure proper
documentation and conformance to coding and design standards.
The Creative Director is an individual with extensive commercial graphic design and electronic media experience.
The Creative Director for each project must have previously worked in a senior position for a well-known graphic
design or advertising firm in order to hone his or her creative abilities. Strong visual design skills are vital to putting
together a product that is aesthetically pleasing as well as technically functional.
The QA Director is responsible for quality assurance throughout all four phases of the project. The QA Director
must be certified by the Quality Assurance Institute (largest professional organization for software QA professionals).
One person from the customer staff should be designated as the primary point of contact for the project. This person
should have a good understanding of the business requirements, but should draw upon the business subject-matter
experts within his or her organization during requirements definition. The Project Director will be responsible for
fulfillment of all customer deliverables (defined in the project plan).
In order to ensure success, every project should have an executive sponsor who takes a more or less active
role to empower the Project Director to allocate the customer organization's resources as required by the project. The executive sponsor should assume ultimate responsibility for the success of the project.
